This week on Celebrity Skin Care, we are featuring Hollywood’s latest blushing bride, Reese Witherspoon!
Whether its juggling two kids, planning her (second!)wedding, or promoting new film, Reese Whitherspoon has managed to do it all without hitch. Since back in the day when she was Elle Woods in Legally Blonde right through to her recent Southern Belle ceremony, Reese Whitherspoon has been glowing as bright as the spotlight does on an A-list celebrity. So, just how does she maintain her fresh, young look through all that work? Let’s find out from our “Pretty Practitioners” at MAS!

Shea, our A.P.A (Aesthetic Physician’s Assistant). says…
So what’s her secret to her flawlessly radiant skin? According to Reese, it all comes down to sunscreen, a good moisturizer, and good skin from her grandmother.
Even if you didn’t hit the genetic lotto like Reese, aren’t completely out of luck.
Reese is right on track by with her sunscreen. It is the single best thing you can do to prevent signs of aging. Reese also wears a sun hat anytime she is out in the sun or on the beach. There are hundreds of stellar SPF’s out there, but I would suggest iS Clinical Mineral Powder with SPF 20 ($43, amazon.com), or Vivite’s Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 30.
The second best way to prevent wrinkles is with a regular skincare routine. Reese was recently seen entering the Kinara Spa in LA. She might have been on her way in for a spa facial as a birthday treat or bridal beauty booster. We see brides -to -be in our office for our Signature MAS Magnifique Facial as early as six months before the Big Day. A monthly indulgence with your favorite facialist is an investment that will last you for years to come, and hopefully as long as her marriage as well 🙂
Karin, our BB (Beauty Blogger) says…
When I think of Reese Witherspoon I want to swoon over her buttery blonde hair and that blinding white smile, both of which she tends to play up perfectly with a punchy-colored pout.
I loved Reese’s wedding day look, but I have to say that I wish she had found just a hint of color to pull her look from natural to knockout.
She often chooses a classic red lip, which clearly would have been too strong for her blush-ing bridal gown, but she certainly could have pulled off a pop of pink or a sparkling champagne. Either would have matched her glowing skin and led to lots of blissful wedding kisses!
If you’re planning on trying a hint-of-pink wedding gown for your own big day, I would recommend focusing on flawless skin, softly smoky eyes, and a little luster on your lips.
Bobbi Brown is the queen of ” neutrals and naturals”, and her lip color in Rose ($22, bobbibrowncosmetic.com) gives a gentle sweep of shade and shine. Too Faced also has a flawless nude called Free Love which is from their Lip of Luxury Champagne Essence Lipstick line ($20, ulta.com).
Perfect for the first toast of the night and long beyond! Congrats, Reese & Jim!
Dr. V, our Celebrity Cosmetic Surgeon says...
Reese looks great everywhere she goes, and in every movie she stars in! Her skin is always glowing, and her hair looks beyond healthy. How does she do it?
Healthy diet, plenty of exercise, and a little Botox!
Botox is the most popular cosmetic procedure in the country with over 2.5 million people getting the standout anti-wrinkle treatment every year. Reese has the classic relaxed, awake, wrinkle-free look to her eyes and brows that usually results from Botox treatments, but I wonder if she has ever considered using Botox to soften her prominent jawline?
Botox can be used to relax the large muscles of the jaw so that it appears less square, more delicate, and more feminine. Another celeb who comes to mind when I think about an overly square jaw is NYC Housewife Bethenny Frankel. She and Reese are both gorgeous women, but their strong jaws give them a slightly masculine appearance. A few extra Botox injections the next time they get their brows done could work wonders!
